Project
S3 Partnership Food Packaging
From project to partnership
The conclusion of the Value4Pack project and its outcomes formed and strengthen the ongoing work of S3FP, a long-term S3 Partnership connecting European food and packaging clusters to turn challenges into real projects, investments and impact.
Context
Food packaging is a critical enabler of sustainable food systems, helping reduce food waste by protecting product quality, safety, and shelf life throughout the supply chain.
At the same time, the European Green Deal is accelerating the transition towards circular packaging solutions, with ambitious goals for reusable and recyclable packaging, reduced packaging waste, and increased use of recycled materials by 2030.
To meet these challenges, stronger collaboration across the entire value chain is essential – connecting food producers, packaging suppliers, logistics providers, retailers, and recyclers. In parallel, the development of smart packaging solutions is creating new opportunities linked to traceability, logistics efficiency, and shelf-life monitoring.
This is why Packbridge joined this partnership. As a neutral collaboration platform connecting industry, academia, and innovation actors, Packbridge can help drive the cross-sector partnerships, knowledge sharing, and innovation needed to accelerate the transition towards sustainable and circular food packaging solutions.
